Beatuty and the Beast - Part 2

But it was too late; the arrow pierced Belle’s tiny body. As she fell to the ground
“No!” Beast roared. He emerged from the darkness and started to wrestle with Gaston again. Beast grabbed Gaston by his neck and held him out over the edge of the roof, squeezing his neck tighter and tighter.
“Put me down. Put me down! Please don’t hurt me! I’ll do anything! Anything!” gasped Gaston, fearing for his life.
Beast slowly started to ease him down onto the ground, as compassion overtook the Beast. He shoved Gaston a little and yelled “Get out! And stay away!”

Beast turned around to see Belle lying on the ground motionless; he walked over to her and went to pick her up in his arms. Gaston hadn’t left at all. He snuck up behind Beast, stabbing him in the back. Beast roared in pain. As Gaston pulled the knife out preparing to take another blow, Beast furiously turned around and pushed Gaston with all his power, knocking him off the edge of balcony. Beast watched as Gaston fell to his death, feeling relieved.

As he stood above Belle, tear drops started to fall from his eyes mixing with the rain. He lifted her up and carried her back inside. He softly placed her down on the floor in front of the fireplace and gently pulled the arrow out of her.

“No, no! Please! Please! Please don’t leave me! I love you!” he wept.
Through the tears he spotted the magic rose, on the table, which had turned from a bright red into a deep dark red. He got up and removed the rose from the glass case. He made his way back to Belle and as he laid down next to her, he placed the rose on her chest. He gave her one small kiss on the lips and then held her in his arms. “I love you.” he whispered and he laid his head against her face.

One of the petals dropped from the rose, and fell onto her wound. There was a spark and the petal flashed like a glittering diamond. Beast raised his head noticing the petal sparkling over her wound. He looked up and saw that the rain was falling like shooting stars onto his castle.

All of a sudden he felt a striking pain, like he was being stabbed in his heart. The pain made him fall into a deep sleep. Fog started to surround his whole body, as he magically rose up into the air and began to spin around. He was then enveloped in a cloud of light and his cloak wrapped itself around his body. In the cloak, his body started shake and change. His front paw punched out from his cloak and his claws turned into fingers. His hind paws developed into feet. A breeze crossed his face and his fur started to dissolve away to reveal the handsome young Prince. His body then slowly floated, descending back down onto the floor, as the fog disappeared.

Beast woke up, stood up and looking down at his hands he realised the spell had been broken. He knelt back down next to Belle and looked at the petal on her wound. Watching her lie there, he went to brush the petal off her chest, only to find her wound had healed over. Confused as to why she wasn’t moving, he asked “Belle?”
Her body started to flinch and her eyes slowly opened. “Belle!” he cried, relieved, through tears of joy.
Belle reached out to touch him, and then hesitantly jerked her hand back. “Belle, it’s me!” he said hysterically.
She continued to look at him sceptically, examining every part of his body, then she noticed his big blue eyes and instantly knew it was him. “It is you!” she replied, gasping at his handsomeness.

Beast wrapped his arms around her and for the first time, they slowly kissed. As the kiss came to an end they were greeted by the objects, who had turned back into his servants. “Lumiere! Cogsworth! Oh, Mrs Potts! Look at us!” he said with joy. “It’s a miracle!” replied Lumiere.

Beast picked up Belle and twirled her around as danced around the ballroom. All Beasts’ servants and Belle’s father gathered around them, celebrating the joyous wedding. Above Belle and Beast as they circled the dance floor was a stained glass window, with a picture of Beast and Belle in the centre of it. They looked up, smiling and started to kiss.

And they all lived happily ever after.

Beauty and the Beast - Part 1

The objects were all sitting around in the dinning room, discussing what had happened between Belle and Beast. “I knew it, I knew it was foolish to get our hopes up.” said Cogsworth.
“Maybe it would have been better if she had never come at all.” replied Lumiere.
As they sat around, miserable about Belle leaving, Footstool came scampering into the room and barking towards the window. They all jumped up and curiously rushed over to the window to see what was exciting Footstool, all secretly hoping it was the return of Belle. “Could it be?” questioned Lumiere.
“Is it she?” asked Mrs Potts.
“Sacre bleu, invaders!” Lumiere gasped, as he spotted the mob of the villagers entering through the castles gates, they were all armed with weapons, including axes, crossbows and forks.
“Warn the master!” ordered Cogsworth. “If it’s a fight they want, we’ll be ready for them!”
The objects all turned away from the window and made their way through the hallway into the entrance of the castle, preparing for a battle they were all unsure of how to fight.

Mrs Potts entered Beast’s lair to inform him of what was happening outside the castle. “Pardon me Master, but the castle is under attack.” she said.
“Leave me in peace.” replied Beast.
“But, what should we do, Master?” asked Mrs Potts.
“It doesn’t matter now. Just let them come.” he glumly responded.

Back at the entrance of the castle, the objects had all joined together, forming a massive barricade, trying to block off the door, which had started to be bashed at by the mob. “This isn’t working!” stressed Lumiere.
“Oh, Lumiere! We must do something!” replied Featherduster.
“Wait! I know!” said Lumiere.
Within a few seconds the mob had broken in, only to find the entrance filled with random objects and assorted pieces of furniture scattered throughout the room. The villagers started to tiptoe in, not knowing the objects were actually alive and ready to pounce. As the mob slowly got further into the room, Lefou unknowingly picked up Lumiere. “Now!!” shouted Lumiere.

As Lefou, who was extremely puzzled, started to look around the room to figure out where the voice had come from, all the objects quickly sprung to life and started attacking the mob. Completely shocking the men, the objects had the chance to beat the villagers and fortunately scare them out of castle. However, as the objects were too busy celebrating their victory, cheering and dancing around the entrance way, they didn’t notice Gaston take off into the castle searching for Beast.

Gaston made his way through the castle, peering into every room he came across until he found Beast in his lair. Beast was sitting in his chair by the rose, watching the petals slowly curl up and wither. Gaston wasted no time as he started to raise his crossbow and take aim at Beast. Beast looked up at Gaston, and then lowered his head in sadness. Gaston released the arrow and watched in excitement as it struck the beast in his shoulder; Beast started to yelp and stood up from his chair, holding his shoulder in pain. Gaston then ran across the room tackling Beast, forcing him out through the window and onto the balcony. “Ha ha ha ha ha!” laughed Gaston.

Gaston cornered Beast on the edge of the roof, while Beast just simply sat there in despair, not willing to fight back. It started to rain, and the night sky was filled with thunder and lighting. “Get up! Get up! What’s the matter, Beast? Too kind and gentle to fight back?” remarked Gaston.
Beast continued to look down, ignoring Gaston. Gaston turned away from Beast and headed across the balcony towards a bit of the roof, he fiercely broke a piece off. Then he quickly turned around again and started walking back to where Beast was sitting. Just as Gaston was preparing to smash the sharp piece of roof tile across Beast’s back, they both heard the soft, sweet voice of Belle, “Gaston! No!” she yelled, as she ran through the castle gates.
“Belle?” said Beast, relieved to see she had returned; now giving him a reason to fight back.
Gaston ignored Belle and swung as hard as he could at the Beast. But Beast turned and caught the piece of roof in his hand. He stood up and roared in Gaston’s face. They both grabbed each other and began to wrestle across the balcony, “Were you in love with her, Beast? Did you honestly think she’d want you when she had someone like me? It’s over, Beast! Belle is mine!” Gaston continued.

Beast quickly escaped and found a hiding place amongst the gargoyles, in the darkness. Out of the corner of his eye, Gaston saw Beast hiding and snuck around behind him. With Beast oblivious to his presence, Gaston raised his crossbow again and aimed to fire.
Belle quickly made her way through Beast’s lair and out on to the balcony. Realising what was about to happen she ran out in front of Beast to protect him. Right as she jumped in front of Beast, Gaston released his crossbow. “No!! I won’t let you hurt him! I love him!” Belle screamed.

Beauty and the Beast

Ok I thought for those of you who do not know the story behind Beauty and Beast, I would give you the basics of the plot…

A Prince is turned into the Beast when a fairy princess realises he is shallow and can’t see past peoples looks. She also turned everyone who worked in his castle into an object and changed the castle into a dark haunted palace. To break the spell he is given some conditions to meet. He has to fall in love with someone and they fall in love with him in return before his 21st birthday. The fairy princess gave him a rose, this rose will slowly wither till his 21st, once the rose is fully withered the spell cannot b
e broken and he will remain a beast for the rest of his life.

Belle’s father gets lost in the woods and ends up being held captive by the Beast in his castle. Belle goes looking for her father. Once she finds him, she gives herself up in return for her father’s freedom. When her father returns home he tries to tell the villagers about the beast and how he has taken Belle but they all think he’s crazy. Her father then decides to go save Belle. Meanwhile Belle and the Beast have started to fall in love with each other and after dinner one night he shares his magic mirror with Belle. Belle asks the mirror to show her father and she sees he’s lost in the woods again and is getting sick, so the Beast lets her go free to help her father, giving her the mirror to keep so she can always look into it and see him.

When Belle and her dad return to their home, they are met by the village folk who want to take her Dad to the loony home. Belle proves to the villagers her father is not crazy and that the Beast does exist by showing them him through the mirror. The villagers then set off to kill the Beast.

At the end of the story the Beast fights off the villagers. He gets cut, weak and falls to the ground. Belle cries and kisses him better. He then turns back into the Prince. His castle returns to normal and all his servants change back into humans.

They all live happily ever after.

Now here’s my revised ending to the story…

Yes the characters names are weird, but I used the same names as Disney…

Let me know what you think!

Outrageous Fortunes Fan-Fiction Final

Scene 1

Loretta awoke suddenly with an intensifying urge to be sick. Running to the bathroom she hurls up last nights dinner.
Pascall who happens to walk past the toilet, saw what her sister was doing and shrieked “Oh no, you’re not pregnant are you?”
Loretta spun around and yelled “No f***ing way” slamming the door in Pascall’s face. Loretta then got to thinking, “F**k what if I am pregnant, that means that Hayden Peters got me up the duff. F**k he’s skipped the country, I’ll do more than burn his house down this time, I’m going to kill him!”
“Pull your f**cking head together, Loretta thinks to herself. “It had to be mum’s bloody cooking last night”.
Loretta drags herself back to bed, slamming the door behind her, where she spends the rest of the day hiding.
Sheryl arrives home with takeaways for dinner. Smashing on Loretta’s door she demands she get out of bed for tea. Ignoring Sheryl’s order, Loretta throws the blankets over her head and declares she’s staying put.
During the normal dinner bickering, Pascall sarcastically tells the rest of the West family that Loretta was puking in the toilet earlier that morning.
Sheryl leaps from her chair screaming “Where the f**k are my cigarettes?”
“I’ll get you a drink” says Wayne as Pascall searches for Sheryl’s cigarettes.
Grandpa pipes up saying “Oh my god, she’s not up the duff to that Hayden f**king Peters is she?”
Sheryl leaves the kitchen, cigarette in her mouth and drink in her hand heading straight for Loretta’s room.
Grandpa who is now rolling his eyes in the back of his head says “As if Pascall moping over Bruce isn't bad enough, now there's a bloody kid on the way".
Wayne glares at Pascall from across the table saying “Did you really need to stress your mother out without knowing the truth; she’s got enough crap going on with you at the moment”.
Pascall huffs at Wayne and storms out the front door slamming it behind her.
“Well Ted, I think dinners over” says Wayne. Grandpa gets up scavenging what food is left over and heads for his caravan.
Sheryl bursts into Loretta’s room, dragging on her cigarette. “Loretta what the f**k’s going on, are you pregnant” asks Sheryl.
Jumping out of bed Loretta says “Bloody hell mum, No! Are you nuts; it was your cooking last night, it gave me food poisoning”.
“Like f**k it was my cooking, no one else is sick. You've got morning sickness”, says Sheryl.
Loretta calms her mother down and tells her that she is not pregnant, that there is no way she could be and reassures her it is just a bug. Sheryl stops stressing, believing what Loretta has told her. She kisses Loretta, and leaves the room muttering “that f**king Pascall”.
Loretta throws the blankets back over her head, thinking to herself "F**k I hope I'm not pregnant, it better be a bug or mum's going to f**king kill me".
Sheryl walks back into the lounge to find everyone gone except Wayne. She cuddles up to him on the couch, lighting another cigarette. She looks up at Wayne and says “Why are you still here, how can you cope with this lot of mine”. Wayne tilts his head around towards Sheryl kissing her on the cheek
“I wouldn’t have it any other way”, he says.

Scene 2

After ten positive pregnancy tests, Sheryl says “That’s enough Loretta, you're f’’king pregnant! I’m taking you to the doctor”.
“No, I’m not. There must be a fault with the tests, I can’t be f**king pregnant,” says Loretta.
Loretta and Sheryl sit stunned as the doctor tells them Loretta is nearly five months pregnant, and there is no option of abortion; it's too late for that now. After driving home from the doctor’s, Loretta announces to everyone at home that she will be raising the baby on her own, and she does not want Hayden to ever know that she is having his baby.
“I always hated that Hayden f**king Peters anyway,” grumbled Grandpa.
Pascall who is still moping around the house, pining over Bruce screams out saying “I should be having a baby not bloody Loretta”.
“Bruce and I wanted to have lots of kids, we should still be together” she says.
“Oh come on Pascall, maybe you two weren’t meant to be, you’re going to be an aunty soon” says Sheryl.
“I don’t’ care, I have to get Bruce back!” cries Pascall.
“Loretta my car is out of gas, I need you to drive me to see Bruce NOW, sobs Pascall.
“Ha-ha, piss off” says Loretta “I’ve got better things to do than run around after you”.
“PLEASE!” moans Pascall. “I’ll do anything for you, please Loretta please, I’m begging you”.
“Fine, only because I can’t stand you f**king moaning any longer; get in the car, I don’t have all day, I have to open the Video Hut in half an hour” says Loretta.
Loretta and Pascall get into her car and head towards Bruce’s house, bickering at each other as they drive.
“Go faster Loretta, Bruce starts work soon I can’t f**king miss him” weeps Pascall.
Loretta starts to get frustrated with her sister’s moaning and speeds up way over the limit.
As they approach the last corner before Bruce’s house, a logging truck speeds around the corner on their side of the road.
Loretta is too busy yelling at Pascall to shut up, instead of watching to road as the truck collides straight into them.
Bruce comes upon the horrific scene minutes after it happens. Stopping immediately he dials 111, but is terrified to move any closer as he recognizes that the vehicle is Loretta’s.
Firefighters cut unconscious Loretta and Pascall out of the car, rushing them to Auckland Hospital in serious conditions.
Sheryl’s cell phone starts ringing, while at the pub having lunch with Wayne. “Hello, I’m a tad busy can you ring me later” says Sheryl.
“Sheryl its Bruce here, I have some heartbreaking news for you. Loretta and Pascall have been in a serious car accident, they are both in critical conditions in Auckland Hospital; you need to go there immediately”.
“What! No your f**king joking me,” screams Sheryl.
“I’m so sorry Sheryl, is there anything I can do?”
“No, I have to go” says Sheryl as she hangs up.
“Wayne, f**k the beer we got to go; the girls have been in a bloody car accident, ring the boys to meet us at the hospital”.
The West family pace the floors in the waiting room of the hospital. Sheryl starts to storm out for a cigarette but is stopped by a doctor who asks “Are you Sheryl West?”
“Yeah, why, who are you?” she says.
“I’m the doctor who worked on your two daughters; I’m sorry to inform you Mrs. West but we couldn’t save you daughter and grand daughter”.
“Oh my God, Loretta and the baby!" screams Sheryl.
“No, sorry it’s Pascall and Loretta's daughter Mrs. West” says the doctor.
“NO”!!!!!! Screams Sheryl; collapsing to the ground.
The rest of the West family stand their gob smacked as Wayne races to Sheryl’s side.
"I need to see Pascall right now" weeps Sheryl.
"Of course, follow me I will take you to her", says the doctor.
Sheryl and Wayne leave the room with the doctor.
"I'm going to see Loretta" says Van.
Van walks in to find Loretta crying on the bed, "I can’t believe it she says; my baby and my sister are gone, just like that".
"It's going to be ok Loretta, we are all here for you" says Van.
"I had a girl says Loretta, I named her Aurora”.
Van walks over to Loretta and starts cuddling her with tears pouring down his face "Thanks Loretta that means a lot to me, Aurora would have loved the baby” says Van.
Loretta cuddles Van sobbing in his arms. He looks at her and says “Aurora will look after her now”.

Fan-fiction (draft)

Craig gazed at the sunset and basked in his own self-pity. In his hand, lays a single white frosted bakery cupcake crowned by a single small candle. Only the solitary marker and the cup cake had celebrated his birthday.
This really irked him. Everyone else have their own birthdays. Even his younger brothers had rather garish affairs. What did he get for his birthday? Absolutely nothing, not even a single utterance of “Happy Birthaday, Craig” Just because he was a foster child, doesn’t mean that his family should treat him like rubbish.
Did his FAMILY care about him? That was the question, and in his mind all signs pointed to no. They couldn’t give a damn about him, or what he felt.
He was a tough boy, but only a human, never a moment’s happiness, no matter how he tried to gain some respect and warm welcoming from his family, all he received was a rebellion. He surely wanted to escape and live on his own, but they were his only family. That is what made it just that much more pathetic. With family like his, you’d rather have enemies.
With a sigh, he encourages himself with the hope of a brighter tomorrow where his life might suddenly be transformed into a peace and a joy. Unfortunately, this is just an imagination, not a thing to happen……and his was slowly waning.
“Oh, fuck it” grumbled the disgruntled youth as he cast way the cupcake. With an instant sentiment for a drink, headed off to a pub.
The youth slowly slipped though the door of the pub and peeped inside at the interior. Someone might have put huge efforts to make this place look like an American style tavern.
“Time to get smashed” He murmured to himself.
He walked over to the bar and sat down, “Hey, Gimme something strong!!”
The barkeep, with a charismatic glance, low down his voice towards Seung.
“You look too old to be in here, Kid”
“I am 19” mumbled Seung.
“Well, then come back next year when you become 20” The old barkeep firmly stated.
With a scowl on his face, Seung started back outside, pushing his way through the crowded bar. He never got a break.
Buffy sighed herself as she gazed across the bar of Jack’s, her personal haunt.
This place has become her regular pub where she drinks away her pain ever since the day her lover, Angel got killed by the VAMPIRE gang. (what do you guys think about putting in "vampire" ?"

Buffy headed to this bar to relieve her indescribable pain, with a slight expectation of meeting up with someone special for the night. So that for a moment, she could have a connection with another human being.
She felt all alone ever since Angel had gone.
Buffy was thrown out of her emotional monologue by a sharp impact as some one knocked into her shoulder. The impact upset the balance of her barstool, and sent her flying backwards.
She opened her weary eyes wide, and looked directly into a gorgeous pair of gray-blue orbs. Eyes which mirrored her own suffering.
“Err…I am sorry, I didn’t mean to knock you over,” muttered the young man who owned the eyes, as he helped Buffy back to her feet.
Buffy blushed.
She knew that there was something about this young men which deliberately made her feel in need to stop him from going away.
She grabbed him tight.
“Wait a second; I would like to offer you a drink”
“…I just got kicked out because I am not legally under the age of drinking”
Buffy shrugged; sat back down and pulled Craig onto the stool next to her “Let me handle it” she turned to her barkeeper and said “Hey, Jack! Two shots of whisky. One for me, and one for my friend here!”
The old keeper shot Buffy a sour look. “Buff, you know that I can’t serve…….”
In a sarcastic tone, Buffy said “Just give me the damn drink would ya?”
“Don’t forget that you are responsible for this consequences” moaned the old bartender.
As soon the drink was served, Buffy poured the alcohol to Craig.

“Drink up!!! My friend” said Buffy in an overwhelming tone of excitement.
“What’s your name anyway?” asked Craig to break away from an awkward mood.
“Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, I am Buffy, yours?”
“Craig ” replied the young man
With a bewildered look, Craig asked “Are you alright? if you don’t mind of me asking…” For some strange reason, he wanted to build a relationship with this pretty girl who conceals her secrets of grief within herself.

Tintin's Adventures in Brazil

2. Congress Building at Brasilia, capital city of Brazil.
3. Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.
Tintin's Visit To Brazil
Part A: Tintin’s arrival in the country and his first glance at the Brazilian culture.

On November 25th 2006, Tintin arrived in Brazil. After travelling for about twenty-three hours on a direct flight from Brussels, Tintin was exhausted and so was his good friend Snowy (he’s a dog!).
Tintin arrived in the big city of Rio de Janeiro (state of Rio de Janeiro, same name as the city), a city populated by 6,136,652 inhabitants.
Rio is very famous for its beautiful clear water, fine-white-sand beaches, yearly carnival parade and football.
Upon arrival at the airport, Tintin saw so many different types of people that really made him think about the ethnic groups that the country has.

Tintin decided that his trip to Brazil was going to be not only for pleasure and to see an old friend, but also a historical one; and he wanted to know all about Brazil and its people. That wouldn’t be difficult because Tintin had already learnt to read and write in Portuguese by correspondence.
Tintin had a Brazilian friend called Pedro, whom he met years ago (in 1997) in Brussels while Pedro was touring round Europe. The lads met for the first time at a library while both were doing some academic research. The lads immediately took to each other and became good friends; and since then, they had been corresponding.

While visiting Rio, Tintin intended to stay with Pedro and his family in the suburb of Copacabana (a very famous place) which is surrounded by beautiful beaches, cafes, restaurants, night clubs, theatres, big expensive residential buildings and, of course, the shanty houses (slums) on the hillsides.
As soon as they arrived in the borough of Copacabana, Tintin was shocked and astonished to see so much richness and poverty coming together in the same area.

Tintin asked: ‘Pedro, why are there so many shanty houses in this city?’
Pedro replied: ‘Because there are some very poor people here and the government doesn’t provide inexpensive accommodation for all of them; and because they can’t afford the expensive rent, they build their own houses somehow.’

Tintin thought the whole situation was very unfair but he didn’t understand it; after all, where he comes from there isn’t such poverty and such richness alongside each other. Tintin looked on the bright side of life and thought that once he’s there he’s going to learn about everything, good and not so good.
Although Tintin was very tired, he couldn’t wait to go out and about meeting people, talking, looking at the beach and getting to see the tourist places this big city has.

‘Well, what are we going to do after we meet your family, Pedro?’ asked Tintin.
After thinking for a few minutes Pedro said: ‘I think we should go round Copacabana for you to get familiar with the locals; and also for you to practise a little bit of Portuguese.’
‘Am I going to be all right with what I’m wearing, Pedro?’
‘Well, it’s hard to say, Tintin. The fact is, you do stand out with your blonde hair and blue eyes; and besides, your clothes are little bit different from what we wear here in Rio. Therefore, I think you’re better off changing into something that looks like our Brazilian style of clothing. And by the way, don’t wear any jewellery because it does attract thieves.’
‘Perhaps we should just go around the block today because it’s nearly dinner time and Mum has invited my grandparents for dinner; and they want to meet you.’

While the lads were getting ready to go out, Pedro’s mum started making a nice big dinner for the family.
After dinner Pedro, Tintin and Snowy drew some plans about the trip they were going to have all over the country.

Tintin’s encounter with a politician.

Part B: Tintin learns about Brazil’s social problems and helps towards finding a solution for them.

Tintin, Snowy and Pedro travelled extensively to cover the whole of the Brazilian territory, just as Tintin had hoped for years while planning his trip to Brazil.
‘There’s so much to see in this country, Pedro,’ said Tintin. ‘I really want to know more about the slums in all big cities in this country. I would like to know when they started, and why the government did not do anything to stop them from expanding.’
‘Well, Tintin, this is such a big topic in Brazil. As you see there are shanty houses everywhere in the big cities in the country.’
Pedro thought that the best place for the lads to go was the National Library in Rio de Janeiro (which is the biggest in the city with many resources). Pedro was constantly at the library, researching his Ph.D. in Social Politics.
‘Pedro, do you think we can find enough information that will give me a solid background in the Brazilian social problems?’
‘Definitely - this is the most resourceful library for this kind of topic, Tintin.’

While the lads were at the library, Pedro met some classmates who were involved in politics. After talking about Tintin’s interest in Brazil’s social problems, they all decided that it would be a good idea to try to organise a meeting for Tintin with Senator Paulo Santos, who was in charge of the people’s welfare.
‘Tintin, what do you think you can organise with Senator Paulo Santos?’ Pedro asked.
‘I don’t know, Pedro,’ said Tintin, with a worried look on his face.
‘Tintin, I think it’s a bit dangerous for you to get involved in a big social problem such as this. After all, it’s not difficult for them to shush you once and for all if you make too much noise about it.’
‘What do you mean? Tintin asked.
‘Well, the right wing is still very strong in this country; and we have to be very careful with what and how we say things here.’
‘Remember, this is South America - not Europe, Tintin.’ Pedro emphasised.
‘Well, I must do what I must do, Pedro, and I do not fear them!’ Tintin exclaimed.

Pedro and his classmates then organised a meeting for Tintin with Senator Paulo Santos in Brasilia (the capital of Brazil). Tintin was very confident that he could make an agreement with Mr Santos about improving the living conditions of the poor Brazilian people. He could not believe that some Brazilian politicians were so insensitive to such a chaotic situation.

Tintin meets Mr Paulo Santos:
‘How do you do, sir?’
‘How do you do, Tintin? Well, I have been informed that you are not happy with the poor peoples’ living conditions, Tintin.’
‘Indeed, sir. I think it is outrageous to let people live in such pitiful accommodations.’
‘Tintin, my dear lad, the situation that you see in this country now is the consequence of corrupt politicians who used public money for their own interests; leaving the country with a foreign debt of billions of dollars.’
‘This government is trying hard to improve social conditions, but it is not easy, Tintin.’
Mr Santos thought that Tintin would be very helpful with his European knowledge of fair social conditions, and decided to employ Tintin temporarily to draw some plans on how to improve living conditions in shanty towns all over the country.
Tintin was radiant and he could not wait to go back to Rio to tell Pedro and the others all about the conversation he had had with Mr Santos.
‘Well, do we have a deal, Tintin?’
‘Yes sir, I am delighted to be of some help to your country.’
‘So long, Tintin.’
‘So long, Mr Santos.’
Tintin flew back to Rio de Janeiro straight after the meeting to share the news with Pedro and his classmates.

Fanfiction Idea...

Hey guys,
Sorry I've taken a while to get onto this, I wasn't too sure on what to do my story on.. but I now have an idea and want to know what you guys think :)

So...

I've come up with changing the ending to Beauty and the Beast... As we all know in most Fairytales the Prince saves the Princess (E.g in Sleeping Beauty, the prince kisses Sleeping Beauty to wake her up. In Snow White, the prince kisses Snow White to remove her Spell. In The Little Mermaid the prince steers the ship into Ursula, the witch, to save Ariel. And so on..), but in Beauty and the Beast, the Beast doesn't save Belle. So I thought I could change the fight scene at the end of the story, between the Beast and Gaston, and have Belle jump infront of the arrow Gaston fires at the Beast, so she ends up shot. Then have the Beast somehow save his precious princess. What do you guys think??

Robinson Crusoe : The Aftermath

Robinson Crusoe : The Aftermath

First Part
The coolness of the dawn woke me up that summer morning when we were approaching York. That night, I decided to sleep on the deck of the boat so that, as soon as, I opened my eyes I could get that same vision I had kept for 35 years. While the three mast ship entered the bay I thought of what the future could have for me here. My emotions were mixed after so much time away. I was happy to return to my country but at the same time, I had a mixture of other emotions inside me. I was grateful because god gave me the opportunity to survive after all, but I also felt fear; fear for the unknown. I knew already I would not have the opportunity to look at my parent’s eyes and ask them for forgiveness for leaving without telling them anything, as if I was escaping from some sort of curse.

If back then, I had only known what fate had in store for me? Damn!

If I only had listened to my father’s warning of the dangers of the sea, but we all know that young people do not listen to advice of older people, until it is too late to revert the situation and they have to taste the bitterness of failure.
In the distance, I can see Friday standing on the prow of the ship, facing the wind that blows his long dark hair. He is smiling. His perfect smile contrasts beautifully with his dark cinnamon skin. He radiates joy and he still seems to be amazed by civilization, in spite of already having discovered several other ports before York. I fear for him.During the trip and after I started to have more contact with the rest of the world I noticed that my perception of him was different from the rest of the people.
How could I transmit to the rest of the world, all the devotion and loyalty that he gave me during all these years?
How I could I make them see that he taught me the secrets of nature and that in his environment he is as wise as the wisest philosopher of the ancient Greece. He has been my only companion for the last 11 years and I have developed strong feelings for him. He is my best friend and sometimes he feels to me like he is my son.He is probably the only person I have left in this world but others see him as a savage, an inferior being, using a colonial-ethnocentric argument that is just a bad attempt to hide the ignorance and fear to the unknown with the pretext of superiority. A clear reflection of their own insecurity.

How good it would be if every human being experienced life away from their own comfort zone, a completely different environment, that will teach them about other people from other latitudes but most importantly it will reflect those impressions onto themselves. Just like the mirror we face every morning.

The port was full of people waiting for our arrival. After the civil war between the parliament and the king in 1642-1646 people became interested in news and my story had arrived in England before Friday and I arrived. The only news I had from England was that my parents were not alive anymore and that my father left me all his wealth but since no one had heard from me for more than 30 years they assumed I was dead and The Crown took it all.
When we descended to the gangplank the people looked at me and Friday with curious eyes. Among them there were lots of journalists and our story seemed to be a big story. Until then, this sort of welcome was just a curious anecdote.
-How did you manage to survive on the island for so long Crusoe?
-Is this savage one of the island’s inhabitants? They asked.
I answered to the questions politely until one of them asked…
-How does it feel to eat human flesh ? That question was like an arrow that pierced my chest.
-Who told you that I have eaten human flesh? I asked.
The crew saw skulls and bones on the beach the day they rescued you and everybody knows that in that part of the world eating human flesh is a common practice.
-Did this savage introduce you into cannibalism Crusoe?
-Don’t you feel any guilt after performing such a practice? You, sinners !
- You children of evil! Repent of your sins or we, in the name of the divine god, will make sure that your sinful souls will be punished !
Friday looked at me without understanding what was happening .I could read the fear and the anguish in his eyes. The only time I saw the same expression in his eyes was during our first encounter right before he kneeled down at my feet and set my foot over his head as a symbolic way of swearing to be my servant forever. After that and during all the years we live together in the island, I never saw him fearing anything. It was a nightmare of an arrival and definitely not a good start.

To be continued.

Could you please Ashley L, Ashlee and Yashodara give me your opinion to this first part of my writing ? Thank you.

Tintin's visit to Brazil.

Tintin’s visit to Brazil.

Tintin arrived in the big city of Rio de Janeiro (state of Rio de Janeiro, same name as the city), a city populated by 6,136,652 inhabitants (the whole state has 15,383,407 inhabitants), and very famous for its beautiful, clear water, fine-white-sand beaches, yearly carnival parade and football.
While visiting Rio, Tintin intended to stay with Pedro and his family in the suburb of Copacabana (a very famous place) which is surrounded by beautiful beaches, cafes, restaurants, night clubs, big expensive residential buildings and, of course, the shanty houses (slums) on the hillsides.
The fact is: you do stand out with your blonde hair and blue eyes; and besides, your clothes are little bit different from what we wear here in Rio.
While the lads were getting ready to go out, Pedro’s mum started making a nice big dinner for the family - it is very common in this society to have a cooked meal at lunch time as well as dinner time.
